The food court at Woodbury Common Outlet does the job if you’re short on time, and the on-site restaurants have improved since Market Hall opened in 2018. But if you’ve got an hour to spare — or you’re staying in the area — the Hudson Valley has better food five to fifteen minutes away. These are the places we actually drive to when we’re out at the outlets.

Three Spots Worth the Short Drive
Cosimo’s Brick Oven — Woodbury (1.5 miles, 4-min drive)
Cosimo’s is the closest full-service restaurant to the outlets and the one we recommend first. It’s Italian, wood-fired, and the menu hits hard on the pizza and flatbread side — the prosciutto-and-fig flatbread is the signature order. Pastas and mains are solid too, and the wine list is bigger than you’d expect from a Hudson Valley spot this casual.
- Price: $$ (flatbreads [VERIFY: $16–$22], pastas [VERIFY: $19–$28])
- Best for: a proper sit-down lunch or early dinner after shopping
- Tip: Friday and Saturday evenings fill up fast — reserve, or go before 6 p.m.
The Woodbury Diner — Central Valley (2 miles, 5-min drive)
The Woodbury Diner is the local diner you want after a long shopping day. Menu’s enormous, portions are big, and it serves breakfast all day — which is genuinely useful if you’ve been driving since 6 a.m. to beat the crowds. The Nutella banana pancakes are the signature; the omelets are the safe bet.
- Price: $ (most plates [VERIFY: under $18])
- Best for: families, early breakfast, late-night bite after a full shopping day
- Tip: Walk-in only. Sunday mornings get a short wait — worth it.
Iron Chef of Central Valley — Hibachi & Sushi (2 miles, 5-min drive)
Iron Chef is the “make an evening of it” option. You sit around a hibachi grill, the chef cooks and performs at your table, and two hours later you’ve had dinner plus something close to theater. The sushi side is surprisingly strong for a hibachi place — we usually order a mix.
- Price: $$–$$$ (hibachi combos [VERIFY: $28–$45])
- Best for: groups, birthdays, kids who’ll actually sit still for a show
- Tip: Reserve for hibachi — they seat groups together, so a 6 p.m. booking on a Saturday may share the grill with another party.
Five More, If You’ve Got Time to Drive
These are further out (10–25 min) or we’ve visited less often. Worth it if you’re staying the night or combining the outlets with a Hudson Valley day trip.
- An Artistic Taste — Harriman (6 miles): Small, modern-American, seasonal menu. Book ahead — it’s tiny.
- Dottie Audrey’s — Tuxedo Park (9 miles): Breakfast and lunch only. The French toast and the coffee are both worth the drive.
- A Better Place Bar & Grill — Central Valley (2 miles): Closer than its address suggests. Good for a beer and a burger when you don’t want a project.
- Allan’s Falafel — Chester (5 miles): Best Mediterranean in the area, plenty of vegan and vegetarian. Counter service — fast in, fast out.
- Machu Picchu — Newburgh (15 miles): Worth the drive only if you’re heading toward Stewart Airport or staying up that way. Family-run since 1990, authentic Peruvian.
